Central Avenue Bistro and Marketplace was conceived by mother daughter team of Spring Janke and Marilyn Willie. Almost as soon as they opened their doors the pandemic hit, and they had to close their doors to service. After the COVID ban was lifted the CAB opened their game-changing outdoor patio. This 'accidental' restaurant also had a great stage with an Instagram-'able' backdrop, they started hiring performers to sing on the patio under the shade of old oak trees and the business survived and thrived. It is a wonderful addition to Cameron. People travel to Cameron just to enjoy the food and atmosphere. On September 7th the Cameron gem was awarded and recognized with a Texas Historical Marker.
